Questions about
Fixed Area Units
What are Fixed Area Units?
Fixed Area is a demarcated open floor space inside a working warehouse, with no walls between you and the rest of the operation. You manage your own goods on the floor, while the warehouse handles security, fire safety, and access control. It's the lighter, lower-cost format of Instant Storage.
What's the minimum size and how long can I book for?
Fixed Area starts at 100 sqft. The minimum contract is one month, with the ability to scale up or down on 30 days' notice. There's no long lease and no fit-out commitment.
What's included in the rate?
The AED per sqft per month rate covers your dedicated floor area, the warehouse's standard security, fire safety, and shared facilities (toilets, loading dock access during operating hours). VAT is shown separately on your estimate. There are no broker fees or surprise add-ons.
How is Fixed Area different from a Lockable Unit?
Fixed Area is open floor space inside a shared warehouse, suited to bulkier or oversized stock that doesn't need walls. Lockable Units are private locked rooms with your own key, best for small or home e-commerce businesses. Lockable Units cost more per sqft because of the build and the smaller-format yield.
How quickly can I move in?
Within 24 hours of document verification. From confirming your booking to having access in hand is usually under 24 hours, often within 4 to 8. Your account manager coordinates the timeline on WhatsApp.
Can I bring my own racking, pallets, or labour?
Yes. Fixed Area is self-service, so you can use your own racking systems, pallets, or labour for inbound and outbound movement. The warehouse can usually provide forklift hire on request, billed separately. Your account manager will confirm what's available at the specific warehouse.
