The numbers are typical assumptions for UAE warehousing: 33 CBM per 20ft, 67 CBM per 40ft, standard 120×100 cm pallets, and around 80 to 90% usable space once stacking and access are accounted for. Real cargo can vary by 10 to 20% in either direction, depending on density and how it's packed. Use this as a starting point, not a final commitment.

The sqft figure is the floor area you'd need to actually store the goods, including normal stacking gaps. Most warehouses charge for rented floor area inclusive of internal corridors, so the rate you're quoted will already factor this in. If your operation needs heavy daily access, add 15 to 25% to the calculator output and discuss with your account manager.

Mix and match. Use the box rows for anything below container size: small for retail cartons, medium for a large moving box, large for anything up to roughly half a cubic metre. If your inventory is mostly loose pallets without a container reference, switch to "By space" mode and enter the pallet count or floor area directly.

Total CBM is the raw geometric volume of a container or box. Usable CBM accounts for the gaps you need between stacks, the space taken by pallets, and the area required to walk in and pick goods. A 40ft container holds 67 CBM in theory but typically 55 to 60 CBM of actual usable storage. The result above shows usable figures.

Standard UAE pallets at 120 × 100 cm, stacked to a typical 1.5 metre height. If you're using EU pallets (120 × 80), Asian pallets (110 × 110), or non-standard sizes, the count will shift. Tell your account manager the exact pallet spec when you book and they'll redo the math against the warehouse's actual rack configuration.
